Operations Director

Our client, a food manufacturing business, seek to appoint an Operations Director to oversee their manufacturing facility. The appointed Operations Director will have P&L responsibility alongside day to day management of a team of circa 250 covering manufacturing, engineering, H&S, quality, supply chain and finance. On offer is a generous day rate and the opportunity for a long term contract.

Operations Director – Interim – Food – Role & Responsibilities

– Ensure all H&S, Food Safety, legal, regulatory and fiscal requirements are met
– Manage your team to meet KPI deadlines on production targets
– CAPEX responsibility in conjunction with the engineering team
– Performance reviews and appraisals throughout the site
– Introduce a lean and continuous improvement culture
– Meet with customers and staffing unions as the public face of the organisation

Operations Director – Interim – Food – Skills & Abilities

– Minimum 5 years’ experience working for a blue chip food manufacturing organisation in a senior management role
– Interim experience from prior positions
– Of degree calibre with a background in chemical / process engineering within a food context
– Prior P&L responsibility for a large manufacturing business
– Experience of lean and continuous improvement implementation. Six Sigma training preferred but not essential
