Production Team Leader/Operations Support (Chemical Plant)
Bradford, West Yorkshire

Are you a Chemist or Chemical Engineer? Our client is seeking a proactive individual with some industry experience who is looking for career progression.
We now have an opportunity to join their team as a BioAMD Team Leader, you will also be required to cover the Production Shift Team Leader and BioAMD Process Technician shift roles in emergency situations.
Your primary responsibility will be focused on the BioAMD manufacturing facility, however, there will be secondary support required for the polymer manufacturing plants.
Main responsibilities:

Supervisory responsibility for five Process Technicians
*
Lead and develop the team and support COMAH compliance to operate a safe and environmentally sound Upper Tier COMAH production plant
*
Assess competence, plan preventative maintenance shutdown and manage improvement projects
*
Coordinate regular equipment cleaning activities and housekeeping
*
Manage the BioAMD laboratory, provide production reports and maintain safety and operational documentation.
*
Site operations
What you must have:
*
A degree level qualification in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or equivalent
*
Previous knowledge of plant operations, preferably chemical manufacturing
*
Previous experience in a leadership role and upper tie COMAH experience would be desirable.
*
The drive and ability to develop into a more senior role.
*
An excellent team worker able to effectively communicate within a multidisciplinary environment.
*
Ability to identify potential mechanical/process improvements and manage their full and successful implementation.
*
Experience of problem solving techniques and root cause analysis.
*
Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
*
A formal continuous improvement qualification such as 6-sigma and/or a nationally recognised safety award covering both personal and process safety e.g. NEBOSH Diploma would be desirable.
*
A first aid qualification or willingness to train is an essential requirement for the role.

As a stand in Shift Team Leader, during the night and weekend shifts you will act as Site Manager, having overall responsibility for operations on the manufacturing site and you will also act as Site Incident Controller in the event of an onsite emergency.
