Salary: £15.6 – £19.2 per hour
1. PURPOSE
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Site Supervisor/Mechanical Fitter will be required to provide Supervisory and mechanical support both on site and at times in the Works. Predominantly on site, this work will include maintenance, service and modifications to Clients existing conveying plant and equipment as well as installation of new works.
2. SCOPE
The company manufactures, maintains, refurbishes and installs both shafted and shaft-less screw conveyors to Clients throughout the UK water industry.
It is desirable that the role holder will have experience of installing and maintaining equipment of this or a similar nature.
3. HOURS
40 hours/week.
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm with 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Though flexibility is required and it is expected that candidates will be willing to work overtime as the situation dictates.
4. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To take on responsibility for both organising and carrying out Site activities, including modifications to the Clients existing equipment and new installations and will be expected to help develop maintenance and installation schedules based on demands and equipment specifications.
• As and when required to take on workshop based activities as directed
• To carry out all activities to agreed SHE and Quality standards, taking a positive attitude towards identifying actions for improvement.
• To carry out engineering installation and support activities in a safe and controlled manner and in accordance with Company Standards and Policies
• To organise and carry out site activities in a timely manner and to coordinate activities with sub-contracted resources for their scope of work.
• Maintain maintenance records as directed and required by the Clients
• To collaborate closely with the production team to ensure flexible and efficient organization of work and ongoing development of skills.
5. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• (Essential) experience of onsite mechanical fitting
• (Desirable) knowledge of screw conveyors or similar
• (Desirable) a mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
• Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft software (Word/Xcel)
• Ability to assess equipment condition and provide comprehensive reports for furnishing to the Clients, for ongoing maintenance activities.
