A unique opportunity for an experienced staff scheduler to join a well-established and family run company within the cruise ship industry.
Based in Bristol, Harding Retail work to provide retail solutions on board ships for some of the worlds largest and most prestigious cruise lines. We currently have retail outlets on board with P&O, Royal Caribbean, Seabourn and Cunard to name a few.
We are recruiting for a crew scheduler to join our head office team in Avonmouth. The ideal candidate will have at least one years’ experience in staff scheduling role and a working knowledge of an applicant tracking system as well as being proficient in MS Office.
Reporting to the Head of HR, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective planning of manpower to fulfill requirements onboard each of our vessels, including scheduling staff members and arranging flights, organising training, visas, administration and updating records, notifying cruise lines and liaising with Area Managers regarding staff on board. Standard hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30-17.30. Out of hours telephone cover will be in rotation week by week and you will be required to cover alternative weeks on call.
Main Duties
• Efficient planning and scheduling of over 300 staff members
• Keep staff schedules accurately up to date at all times
• Ensure staff travel documentation is obtained and maintained
• Communicate on a daily basis with ships on updated staffing needs
• Timely communication with staff at home regarding future assignments
• Work with recruiting team scheduling new employees
• Liaise with Area Manager’s on a weekly basis planning staffing requirements
• Ensure ships have balance of required experience within each team on board
• Liaise with on board Shop Manager’s and Area Manager’s regarding completion of performance appraisals and performance plans
• Update salary details, process expenses and run monthly payroll reports
• Process monthly manning reports for external clients
• Organise training prior to ship embarkation
Skills Required
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confident communicator with excellent telephone manner
• Experience working in an HR environment
• At least 1 years’ experience in a previous scheduling position
• Knowledge of an Applicant Tracking System
• Knowledge of MS Office with proficiency in Word and Excel
