Transport Supervisor

Salary: £33,600 per year

Our well established client are looking to add a supervisor to their busy transport team.

Ideally you will be coming from a fleet transport background.

As a Transport Supervisor your duties would will include:

* Ensure vehicles are booked in for maintenance inspections and MOT’s

* Ensure vehicles and driver tachograph are downloaded at relevant intervals

* All compliance paperwork to be filed away for correct vehicle files

* Ensure all drivers are completing daily checks and defect sheets if applicable

* Ensure driver tachographs are compliant and if applicable provide warnings of any infringements using TMS

* Print all records from TMS and file accordingly and get drivers to sign off weekly.

* Instruct all transport staff of their daily schedules and let them know daily start times

* Oversee all loading of vehicles and run paperwork.

* Supervise all aspects of traffic movement and required locations of vehicles and trailers for loading.

* Assist when required to move stock between sites

* Supervise warehouse staff on daily plans

* Ensure all vehicles are kept clean and tidy

* Check sheets to be collected and filed away accordingly including forklifts

* Daily GIW labels to be printed

The successful Transport Supervisor will have the following attributes:

Good communicator

Be confident managing a fleet and team of drivers.

Experience with the management of strict policy processes

Excellent man-management skills.

Experience within transport operational environment.

Good geographical knowledge.

Hours: Monday to Friday 45 to 50 hours per week start times between 06:00 and 08:00
