The Company
My client is an independent insurance broker who have been operating for nearly 25 years. The offer a full range of commercial and personal insurance service to their clients and now seek an experience Insurance Account Executive to join their busy office in Surbiton
Purpose of Role
To work within the general insurance office dealing with personal lines, commercial lines and sales and responding to customer needs and requirements in an appropriate manner.
To administer existing clients demands and needs (including claims) and to develop new and existing business proactively in line with business development plans.. q
To support the firm’s goals through excellent customer service skills and by seeking and converting new business enquiries.
To ensure that treating customers fairly is central to culture of Surrey Independent Advisers Ltd.
Knowledge and Experience
Educated to GCSE standard including Maths and English.
A minimum of 5 years insurance broking experience with the ability to communicate customers, insurers solicitors and loss adjusters at all levels. Industry approved qualifications are beneficial. Experience of providing specialised advice to support customer requirements.
Thorough understanding of the insurance market, quote systems and products.
Has undertaken (or is willing to undertake) relevant customer service and insurance training to ensure familiarity with current market trends and legislative developments.
Good keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, e-mail and internet.
Skills Required
Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to gather and analyse information from the customer.
Ability to identify and respond appropriately to an individual customer’s level of understanding. Ability to identify and match the products available with customer requirements.
Ability to persuade and influence others.

Responsibilities
To identify potential sales from all incoming calls and enquiries.
To analyse information gathered and undertake sufficient research to make suitable recommendations.
To complete all supporting documentation in a timely, compliant and accurate manner.
To support the departmental Key Performance Indicators and sales targets as directed by the Sales Manager.
To comply at all times with the requirements of the firm’s own procedures, the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and FSA regulations.
To be aware of, and to follow at all times, the firm’s policy on Treating Customers Fairly.
To be aware of, and to follow at all times, the firm’s standards of ethical behaviour.
To maintain customer records accurately and securely in accordance with the firm’s own record keeping requirements and following data protection rules.
To maintain professional competence by complying at all times with the Training and Competence procedures of the firm.
