Salary: £39.6 per hour

Independent Social Worker – Bromley – £33ph

MUST BE SOCIAL WORK ENGLAND REGISTERED

Knowledge/Experience

At least 4 years post qualifying experience in safeguarding children work

Demonstrate an understanding of how Local Authority Child Care Departments are structured and their use of resources – some management/supervisory experience is desirable

Previous experience of acting in an independent role, completing assessment reports – desirable

Knowledge of relevant child care legislation in order to protect children

Significant experience of court work and giving evidence in court

Undertake assessments and risk analysis based on informed professional judgement and use of primary evidence to evaluate how well the parent has made changes to safely care for the child to majority or whether alternative plans should be implemented

Have a good understanding of safeguarding thresholds and ability to assess and analyse risk; good knowledge of child development, attachment and permanency needs of children of all ages

Needs to be well organised and have the ability to communicate effectively and give clear, articulate evidence in care proceedings

Ability to write reports to a high standard, that are concise, analytical, evidence based; appropriate use of theoretical models and research

Be able to meet given deadlines for submission of reports

Be able to work in partnership with Local Authority commissioners and be able to work in partnership with other agencies
