Salary: £31,200 – £33,600 per year

Outbound Despatch Team Leader

Northampton

40 hours a week – 1500hrs – Midnight – Monday – Friday

Salary – £31,200 – £33,600

We are currently partnering with a reputable Logistics business in Northampton.

Our client is seeking an outbound despatch Team Leader to lead the outbound despatch team in the smooth running of the outbound operations in response to customer requests in a cost effective and efficient manner, maximising profit whilst not compromising quality and service.

Duties

  • Support and lead the department by ensuring that all reporting and quality procedures are complied with
  • Pre-planning of outbound freight for cross docking
  • Booking of vehicles and loading space
  • Preparation and despatch of trunk vehicles, including customs processes, hazardous and driver paperwork
  • Administration and processing of shipment details and transport documents
  • Yield management
  • Manage suppliers effectively to minimise cost
  • Ensure that profit is maximised at all opportunities without compromising quality
  • To efficiently respond to customer and network requests for European outbound services to provide cost effective and efficient solutions ensuring that operational deadlines are adhered to
  • Ensure compliance of standard operating procedures
  • Maintain quality standards and excellent customer service
  • To produce, analyse and manage identified Key Performance Indicators for the Euro National outbound activity and ensure that targets are met
  • Proactively lead the efficiency and effectiveness of the Euro National outbound operations ensuring that activity is optimised with the needs of other departments in the business

The Candidate

  • 2 years’ experience in a European road operations
  • European geographical knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and to organise workload to maximise personal efficiency
  • Excellent communications skills and presentation
  • Ability to solve problems and good analytical skills
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of European Road Operations with a proven track record
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Organised and able to deal with a high volume of customer requests
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience at a team leader level
