1st Choice Nurses are part of Medsol Health Care and are working with a prestigious client to provide Disability Analysts to work on a permanent basis across the UK.
We are currently looking to recruit:

Organisational Overview
Healthcare professionals are employed by our client to provide medical services to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Main Purpose of Role
To undertake medical assessments and examinations required for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) as part of a successful integrated team. Operating in the public health care sector: to undertake specific file work using Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) decision making and the assessment of disability and incapacity.
To contribute to the commercial relationship between Our client and the DWP at a local level, ensuring that targets are met in quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.
To undertake a combination of file-work assessment (which is assessing medical evidence in a written or electronic format) and / or face-to-face assessments of customers in relation to a variety of benefits and provide a report to the DWP. These assessments may be recorded.
Full training is given to allow Healthcare Practitioners to become specialists in the field of Disability Assessment.
Essential/Minimum Requirements:
A Healthcare Practitioner: RNA, RMN, RGN, RNLD, Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist who has, since full registration, consolidated their clinical skills with a minimum of 2 years’ post registration general medical experience
Broad based medical experience and assessment skills
Registration and continuous professional development should be maintained in accordance with the requirements of Post Registration and Practice (PREP) standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the CME requirement for revalidation with the General Medical Council (GMC) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
IT literate with experience of using a range of software
Ability to travel to a range of locations as the business requires
Fluent English language skills: highly developed written and verbal communication skills and able to demonstrate effective communication with colleagues and customers, formally and informally
Demonstrates a good understanding of the relationship of own specialisation or area of responsibility to the employing organisation as a whole and takes customer requirements fully into account when making proposals and/or carrying out work
Understands the impact of their role on the business performance
Takes initiative to ensure technical or specialised skills are kept up to date. Ensures skills are fully up to date and in line with the GMC/NMC/HCPC and evidence of ongoing professional development
Experience of change management and the ability to influence and negotiate successfully with a range of people
Demonstrates a positive and constructive attitude
Evidence of responding to unexpected changes by adopting a flexible approach to work
Ability to work to targets and specified standards
Evidence of providing good customer service
Ability to multi-task demonstrating that you are able to listen, assess and take notes and have the confidence to control an assessment
Desirable Criteria:
To have completed ECDL or equivalent is desirable
Previous experience of disability assessment and experience of clinical decision making is desirable (e.g. A & E, NHS Direct, Private practice)
