Our client is seeking an organised and motivated Area Operations Manager to manage the day to day operations of a number of luxury student accommodations across the country. As an Area Operations Manager you will be responsible for the overall running of 5 developments across the UK. Through the successful management of the Residence Managers you will be aiming to achieve and maintain the highest standards and compliance of the residence in accordance with legislation, procedures and best practice, provide the best possible customer care and maximize rental income whilst managing operational costs.

The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate and possesses a strong desire to succeed. The key aspects of the role are around; customer service, Health & Safety, financial, HR, sales & marketing and building maintenance. If you are currently an Area Manager from within; retail, property or hospitality sectors this could be a great fit. The ideal candidate will be extremely commercial and service focused and will provide strong leadership skills, with the ability to offer direction and support to each of the Residence Managers and teams to promote the delivery of the strategic and operational goals of the business across six key areas:

People

-Oversee the recruitment of talented residence teams and their induction to the business and beyond through regular training and coaching.
-Measure, manage and review through effective communication and clear leadership.
-Oversee the performance management framework, developing talent and actively managing underperformance.

Sales

-Work closely with the Marketing and Sales managers to deliver 100% occupancy with specific focus on re-bookings and referrals.

Service

-Deliver our clients industry-leading service standards.

Systems

-Implement and continuously challenge and develop all operational systems and procedures necessary for the smooth and safe running of each residence.

Driving the highest environment standards

-Exceed the defined brand standards through consistent coaching, management, measurement, monitoring and review.

Profit

-Support in the annual budgeting process.
-Deliver financial targets.
-Identify ways to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and optimize service

Role requirements

The ideal candidate will:

-Be an experienced and passionate operator with a proven track record in delivering high levels of service and operational standards via management of multiple sites.
-Likely possess a background in the retail / hospitality / leisure/ health and fitness industries.
-Be a strong team leader and communicator with the ability to influence and develop relationships with key contacts whether these are internal colleagues or external clients.
-Possess high personal standards and attention to detail.
-Possess excellent planning and organisational skills.
-Be highly self-motivated and flexible. This role will involve regular travel and overnight stays.

With the 5 sites being based right across the UK you will have to be open to travel and overnight stays (possibly 2 nights a week + depending on your location) but this can be discussed in more detail. Ideal locations to be based would be around the M4 corridor or the North West of England.
