Operations Manager (Manned Guarding)

Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per year

My long standing Surrey based SIA approved contractor and holder of NSI Gold member status aims to provide a professionally and proactively managed security service to all its clients; commercial and residential. They provide a broad range of services that include static guarding, mobile patrolling, key holding and alarm response, CCTV monitoring, control room services, security/ risk assessments and close protection services.

They are currently looking for a proactive Operations Manager with the purpose of overseeing the day to day operational activities of the business, whilst based in the office e.g. this is not a Contract Manager type role. The company’s portfolio is made up of static manned guarding sites in the Surrey area (1200-1500 hours and circa 65-70 Officers and the growing key holding, alarm response and mobile patrol contract base (800 key holding and 50 mobile patrol contracts) covering the GU and KT postal code areas. The main day to day tasks will include client liaison, first line discipline of Officers, Officer welfare, performance and presentation, surveys for manned guarding, key holding and mobile patrols and overall responsibility for scheduling and leave allocation (although the Controller will do the bulk of the rostering). The typical working hours are 0800-1700, with flexibility if operations require it. The Operations Manager will also be on the on call rota which is 1 week in 3.

For this role candidates should have a track record of head office operational management within the manned security sector, have excellent people management skills, strong IT skills (the company use the PeopleHours system), hold an SIA license and a full UK driving license and reside within approximately 20 miles of Guildford e.g. Petersfield, Farnham, Aldershot, Woking, Epsom, Horsham, Camberley etc.
