Provides service, maintenance, repair and conversion services to Rail Freight Wagons

Multiple Heavy Engineering Workshops over a large diverse activity site.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Site Maintenance Operative with an electrical bias to join a small busy team providing maintenance services on a large busy engineering site

Duties will include Portable Appliance Testing, general maintenance to the site buildings and equipment, testing of slings, jacks and lifting equipment, installation of conduit and new electrical cable runs and housekeeping around the site

This is a rail engineering site so there is a diverse range of responsibilities, plus there is a mandatory need to observe safety regulations and to ensure that all tools, equipment and infrastructure fall in line with safety regulations

There is a strong requirement to ensure that accurate records are maintained and that any maintenance carried out is logged accurately and appropriately to ensure compliance with the sites working practises

Person Profile/Experience:

A Team Player, you will have previous maintenance experience and ideally an electrical qualification. A good sense of humour is essential and an ability to work under pressure and in all conditions both inside and outside of buildings.

Experience in using Cherry Pickers or IPAF would be advantageous as some work is carried out at height

This is a temporary to permanent role and would suit someone looking to extend their career within site maintenance or railway engineering role.

Qualifications:

17th Edition Regulations or an alternative electrical qualification (EITB or City and Guilds, etc.)

Site maintenance experience is essential
