Test and Validation Engineer

Salary: £36,000 – £54,000 per year

Clover Recruitment are recruiting on behalf FEV UK, who are in an exciting time with several new projects coming on board, meaning numerous opportunities for Test and Validation Engineer on a full time, permanent basis.

FEV UK is the subsidiary of FEV Europe for the British market covering the UK customers and together with our global teams we deliver projects. From our modern UK test and engineering centre in Coventry we work on modern powertrain projects contributing to significant reduction in CO2 in transportation and mobility.

The roles are based between our head office in Coventry and our client sites in and around Coventry, so you will need to be able to travel to both locations, ideally with your own transport.

You will take responsibility for working closely with our customer engineering teams and customer test facilities to define the test equipment, test method and requirements for an automotive ePowertrain in a PiL test environment taking the concept design through to series production. You will be developing the test needs, test equipment and test systems needed, equipment requests, monitoring the equipment builds and sign-off for the test equipment. Ideal candidate skills

• Degree qualified, ideally from an engineering or science related background
• Relevant project experience, ideally in an automotive or engineering industry and working in an agile project environment 
• Knowledge in validation of E/E components, PiL and HiL testing
• A sense of responsibility, highly organised, good analytical skills and excellent communication skills
• Experience of working within a Product Development Process or with an OEM development process
• Experience with tools such as INCA, CANalyzer, CANope, dSPACE HIL & automation desk
• Ideally have a driving license and ability to travel
• Written and fluent in English is mandatory

Main tasks

• The key project interface for the customer PiL validation test equipment related project tasks
• Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams within an agile project environment and ensure successful project delivery 
• Define test equipment requirements, review current test equipment to define BoM of test equipment needs
• Plan and monitoring the test equipment ordering, installation and commissioning to time and budget. 
• Issue resolution with the team during the build and commissioning of the test equipment
• Providing updates to the project team and management on the state of the readiness, progress and escalation, developing action plans to resolve issues
