Manual Test Engineer

Salary: £54,000 – £66,000 per year

Manual Test Engineer as a progressive SAAS company we are seeking a Manual Test Engineer to help drive of quality across the full SDLC. The Manual Test Engineer will help define and participate in the end-to-end QA processes, building and operating a bespoke cloud-based SaaS platform creating consumable API’s promoting a culture of quality amongst the entire team.

For the Manual Test Engineer we are seeking someone with:

• Strong Manual Test experience.
• Hands-on experience with BDD
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards
• Familiarity testing and debugging web applications on mobile
• Experience with React, and understanding of modern HTML / CSS
• Understanding of version control systems including Git
• Experience of API testing and tools
• Experience of Continuous Integration and Deployment
• Understanding of REST, GraphQL, asynchronous messaging and data formats such as JSON
• Experience working with modern web testing frameworks including Cypress would be a nice to have

The nice to haves include:

• Experience with scalable cloud applications, distributed architecture and approaches for testing these
• Experience with range of accessibility testing tools
• Experience of security testing and tools
• Experience of load testing and tools
• Familiarity with NoSQL systems such as MongoDB
• Appreciation of DevOps principles

The responsibilities for the Manual Test Engineer are:

• Raise, investigate and document problems and known errors.
• Analysing defects and feedback to suggest improvements.
• Brings ideas from wider industry and applies them.
• Fostering a quality culture within the wider Tech team.
• Longer term to reinforce DevOps principles of automation, building quality in and continual improvement.
• Ensure that we follow best practices to make sure our testing frameworks are supportable, maintainable and scalable.
