CNC PROGRAMMING ENGINEER
BASED ROSYTH
SALARY – £48,000 – £50,400DoE plus Benefits

Headquartered in Fife, but with bases and operations across the UK, Edgar Stewart’s client is part of a well-known blue chip engineering support services organisation. They have identified significant opportunities for growth in support of the UK oil and gas, marine, nuclear, heavy engineering and renewable energy markets.

Due to expanding growth Our Client’s Commercial business stream, require an experienced CNC Programming Engineer to provide CNC 5 axis Programming capability top support to ‘Live’ and developing projects.

The purpose of this role, is to deliver complex CNC machining programs for all large CNC turning and milling machine tools.

Technical input will be required throughout the project lifecycles from bid & tendering stage through to in-service.

Due to the nature of the work to be undertaken, applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance
* Mandatory – UK national citizen (“dual citizenship is not acceptable for this position”
* Should be able to obtain appropriate security clearance

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Accountable to Project and/or Production management for the planning, monitoring and reporting of the following responsibilities:
* Liaise with CNC Production Engineer to analyse and develop the best approach, planning and create / provide efficient CNC part programming output machining processes.
* Develop and control tool management system for all machine tools
* Responsible for providing all error free CNC programs, proving out of programs for all project specific CNC machine Tools
* Supporting the CNC Production Engineer, identify and develop the best cutting technology to improve the machining quality, capability and cycle time reduction
* Have ability to troubleshoot faults / errors on CNC programs and define correct cutting conditions
* Train & develop other team members to an appropriate level.
* Determine Health & Safety requirements for all associated processes.
To be considered for this role you will ideally have HNC / C&G equivalent supporting qualification in a mechanical or manufacturing discipline as well as formal training in Lean Manufacturing. Candidates with a ‘Hands on’ working knowledge of Manual and CNC Turning and up to 5-axis Milling would be considered highly desirable.
Skills and Experience:
* High / Low volume production within an industrial environment, as a CNC Programmer
* Must be conversant in Off / On line CNC Programming software, such as EdgeCam, Delcam, MasterCAM, Vericut
* Must be able to demonstrate up to 5-axis CNC programming capability
* Be able to communicate efficiently as part of an integrated project team, involving stakeholders at all levels, which includes proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Be able to gather, analyse and solve problems around CNC machining using recognised problem solving techniques.
* Experience of working in a heavy manufacturing environment
* Experience of proving and implementing CNC processes and procedures
