Our client is a well-established medium sized manufacturing company based in Washington who are looking to recruit an Extrusion Operator to join its team on a permanent basis. This role is on a shift basis and the successful candidate will be required to work various shift patterns as business demands.

The company have a growing product base which is supplied to various retailers throughout the UK and are the largest independent company in its field.

Working as an Extrusion Operator, you will be part of a team of machine operators within the thermoforming production environment, you will effectively maintain machine efficiency and quality, producing material to the correct customer requirements.

Extrusion Operator Duties will include:

* Working in accordance with the company’s health and safety and manufacturing practice

* Responsible for the production of PP sheet from a cell of high speed machines

* Perform product changeovers, setups and run established tooling to the manufacturing specification

* Ensure correct raw materials are input into the extruder

* Monitor the quality sheet being produced

* Operate machine in a safe manner

* Diagnose and correct running faults in a timely manner once fully trained to do so.

* Maintain machine efficiencies and minimise the amount of scrap product

* Ensure machines are maintained to the highest hygiene level

* Take a full active part in all aspects of training

The successful Extrusion Operator will have the following skills and experience:

* Must have experience as a machine operator

* Must be available to work shift patterns

* Have experience working with polypropylene material

* Experience working with Diamat machines would be advantageous
