Town Planner

Salary: £14.82 per hour

Apple Recruitment are seeking to recruit a temporary Town Planner for our public sector housing client in Craigavon.

This post is full-time, 37 hours Monday to Friday £12.35 an hour. This role is temporary ongoing.

JOB PURPOSE:

Providing a professional town planning input into Land and Regeneration

Services activities. Its core roles, within broader organisation processes,

are related to:

* social housing development programme;

* land asset management activities;

* housing orientated regeneration activity.

MAIN DUTIES:

Lead role in a range of projects, which may include:

* Land Asset activity, with emphasis on evaluation, broader estate studies, support for Transfer Schemes and related planning applications.

* Social Housing & Regeneration Studies and the identification of sites for social housing in areas of high demand

* The completion of detailed LASI Studies

* Feasibility studies of surplus public sector land

* Providing an urban design and physical restructuring input into broader estate regeneration proposals

* Strategic and local feasibility studies

* Provide a town planning service

* To carry out other duties appropriate to the post, as may be required by the Place Shaping Manager, or other designated officer.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Candidates must have an RTPI accredited planning qualification, or an equivalent one which is capable of accreditation by an appropriate professionally recognised organisation e.g. IPI or RICS (P&D).

* Candidates must have at least one year’s relevant post graduate experience of working in a planning environment.

* Candidates should ideally be members of the RTPI (or of an equivalent professionally recognised organisation e.g. IPI, RICS-P&D etc) or agreeable to developing relevant experience and working towards membership of the RTPI, IPI RICS (P&D) etc.

Ideally experience in at least one of the following three areas:

* Experience of site identification and site assessment

* Experience of land asset management

* Experience of GIS and demonstration of proficiency in the use of GIS for planning projects
