Assistant Town Planner

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year

Bennett and Game are currently recruiting for an Assistant Town Planner a well-established consultancy based in York. This positon has come about due to the continued growth of the company as the successful candidate will be reporting to the Director.

It is required that the successful individual will have relevant degree qualification in planning and wanting to develop a career. This role would suit a self-motivated and ambitious individual who are eager to work within a fast-paced commercial environment. Due to the nature of the job you will need to be local to York and have a full driving license.

Our client’s Planners undertake the majority of the project work in-house including writing Local Plan representations and supporting planning applications. They have a long history of developing careers and promoting their Planners to senior positions within the business, so the individual should be keen to build their career with our client’s team.

Assistant Town Planner Position Overview

• Junior Town Planner based within the technical department
• Assisting the Planning Manager to manage projects from identifying new development opportunities
• Planners undertake the majority of the project work in-house including writing Local Plan representations and supporting planning applications

Assistant Town Planner Position Requirements

• Degree in Town Planning or similar or working towards qualification.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Degree-level education in an appropriate discipline, accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute.
• At least RTPI Licentiate membership, with an interest in working towards full Chartered membership.
• To be able to carry out tasks flexibly, efficiently and reliably, taking responsibility for own projects
• Knowledge of GIS would be desirable.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft word, excel, outlook etc.

• £26,000 – £30,000(D.O.E) + Package
