LIDAR Test Software Development Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client has a exciting opportunity for a Test Software Development Engineer to join their R&D team based in Towcester, Northamptonshire.
You will develop software solutions to automate the characterisation of LIDAR chips for automotive applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement test software to characterise photonics chips.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams in R&D, product design and manufacturing to develop new test methods, algorithms and numerical analysis.
- Management of test and metrology data within the process control database.
- Release stable and sustainable software solutions into volume manufacturing.
- Analyse test data to drive yield and process improvements.
- Ensure solutions meet the quality criteria (Specification, Repeatability, and Accuracy), Dfx goals and maximize capital efficiency.
- Training and support of manufacturing engineering staff during new product introduction.
- Part of the role will require spending time in a cleanroom environment. Manufacturing is worldwide and international travelling will be required from time to time.
ESSENTIAL REQUIRMENTS:
- Degree level or higher qualification in Electrical/Electronic engineering, computer science, physics or related discipline.
- Experience in Software development using C/C#/Vb.Net to communicate with external hardware.
ADVANTAGOUS REQUIRMENTS:
Although not required 2-3 years of experience in any the following would be an advantage:
- Previous experience of working in test engineering
- Some awareness of electronic devices and circuits.
- Test/Measurement instrumentation.
- Understanding of photonics and/or optical devices,
- Understanding of data analysis e.g. Using Matlab or equivalent.
- Understanding of statistical process control and Gauge R&R for example using JMP, Minitab.
- Experience of working in Automotive and or semiconductor industries.
