Electronics Engineer

Salary: £54,000 – £78,000 per year

We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to work for a marine electronics manufacturer in Cornwall.

Job role:

The design department is looking for a methodical, proactive, electronic engineer who is passionate about providing effective, innovative products. Candidates will work directly with the existing design team to develop globally recognised equipment and class leading subsea exploration solutions. Our client requires people who are motivated to deliver high quality work and will integrate with our existing friendly team members. Across all the engineering roles we need people with a keen interest in continuous learning, who will approach problem solving with an open mind, and enjoys technically challenging projects who enjoy seeing complete projects from concept right through to delivery.

Responsibilities:

You will have responsibility for the following:

• PCB design

• Specification for new product hardware

• Varied product design including Microcontrollers

• Use of technology such as Bluetooth, WiFi, RS485/RS232, CAN, I2C and ethernet

• Documentation

Essential Prerequisites:

• Degree or equivalent in suitable discipline

• Previous experience in a similar role

• Strong communicator

• Detail focused individual

Preferred requirements:

• Happy defining system requirements based on high-level discussion.

• Proven experience in embedded systems design with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS).

• Preferred Familiarity with software development tools such as Make, GCC, Git and GitLab.

• Experience with STM32, PIC32, and ESP32 microcontrollers, and UART, SPI, and I2C busses preferred.

• Experience with systems using ethernet and RS485.
