Mechanical Design Engineer: – Special Purpose Machinery
Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 + Company performance based bonus + Pension Contribution + 22 Days Holiday
Location: Dudley, Worcester, hereford.
My client is a company that design and manufacture high quality Bulk Material handling equipment globally into a variety of markets. They have in excess of 100 employees and have been expanding on average 10% year on year. Over the next 5 years they expect this growth to continue and to increase their turnover to £25million by 2020.
With this expansion, there is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established Design office and get involved with international projects on an array of cutting edge technology and engineering equipment.
The role of Mechanical Design Engineer: – Special Purpose Machinery
* Responsible for the whole machine design and all components within the system.
* All designs are performed in 3D with 2D drawings being converted using the 3D software
* Use of Autodesk Inventor 100% of the time (Training will be given on Inventor).
* When not working on a CAD station you will be working with the production team on design issues, involved with product testing and once more experienced going out to visit customers.
* Per week, typically, you could be spending 3-4 hours maximum performing Mechanical calculations such as Torque/Power/Stress.
* 100% of the designs are bespoke and carried out by performing modifications to old designs for clients.
* When modifying designs typically this will take 3-4 days.
* You will be involved with New Product Development, this will occur over a longer time period (Up to 3-4weeks if not longer).
* At any one time you would work on 1 or 2 projects.
The person for Mechanical Design Engineer: – Special Purpose Machinery
* Have a passion for Mechanical Engineering.
* Knowledge of Mechanical Calculations is desirable but not required.
* Ideally designed a Mechanical system or component within any 3D design software package.

Working within the Mechanical Design Engineer department you will be part of a growing international company that has seen on average 10-15% annual turnover increase since 2011. This is a very secure business and you will be joining an established team. In the long run, as the office expands there will be a need for new management to be added to the team and you could see yourself in a Senior Mechanical Design or Management position in a 3 – 5year time frame.
