Salary: £38,400 – £42,000 per year
OBJECTIVE
Responsible for the successful planning, execution and handover of sites on decommissioning, new build & upgrades projects. The PE must take responsibility for management of sites through the design process and ensure effective communication amongst all stakeholders to achieve design to delivery KPIs.
KEY CHALLENGES
1.Taking responsibility for the design and management of a portfolio of sites through the design process (ownership of sites)
2.Engaging with multiple stakeholders to ensure high-quality, commercially viable designs are produced that meet client specifications within strict timeframes.
POSITION SPECIFICATION
Management of internal/external resources in the delivery of design, tendering, REC management, construction, Installation & Commissioning & site inspections
H&S Management (in conjunction with the HSEQ Manager), including adherence to Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations
Prepare high-quality, cost effective designs for various build environments (rooftops, street works, greenfields) ensuring all client & internal design specifications are met & approved.
Maintenance of real time progress & weekly client reporting for all works on both internal and external databases
Reporting as required by internal & external stakeholders
Organisation of and attendance at Multi Skilled Visits (MSV¡¦s), health and safety audits and handover inspections on sites
Negotiating & agreeing variation instructions, compensation events & change requests as well as, negotiation of valuations & final accounts with various stakeholders
Provision of design expertise & support to internal departments
Close liaison with subcontractors or service providers as well as clients to ensure KPIs are met
Compiling hand over pack documentation
Site Management Conduct site inductions & oversee construction works (where applicable)
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
as a Project Engineer in Telecoms or related field highly desirable
Flexible & professional approach to work
Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
Strong survey & analytical skills, ability to procure information & report findings
Self-motivated, confident & creative whilst able to show initiative
Display strong commercial acumen & apply this in day to day work
Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
Ability to handle heavy workload & competing priorities
Sound IT skills AutoCAD an advantage
Have a full driving licence and be able to attend site visits, client meetings & surveys as required including overnight stays, occasional long journeys and some irregular working hours when workload dictates.
