Salary: £26,000 – £35,685 per year

The shop assistant works as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of our charity shop, maintaining high standards throughout the shop and back room.
What you’ll be doing /Key responsibilities and accountabilities
To help sort and price donated goods
To work with the shop manager to display goods to maximise customer interest and sales
To ensure that the shop is clean and tidy
To help at the till point to serve customs, including providing information about Gift Aid where appropriate
To help with stock rotation and the disposal of unsold stock
To follow our rules and guidelines and meet the standards we expect of all our staff and volunteers
To take part in training appropriate for the role
To let the shop manager know of any issues or concerns
To take reasonable care of health and safety of themselves and others who may be affected by them
Adhere to all policies in relation to health and safety.
Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of all RSPCA and Branch policies and procedures
To let the shop manager and/or branch manager know of any issues or concerns
Any other duties that may reasonably fall within the purview of the job
Who will you be working with and what support will be given to you?
Working as part of a team of employees and volunteers
As a shop assistant you will be supported in your role by the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager, or the Retail Manager in the absence of the aforementioned.
Training will be provided as necessary.

Essential Elements
Able to be subject to a successful DBS check
