Salary: £60,000 – £78,000 per year

Our client, a leading global payments company in London are looking to recruit a Legal Counsel.

As the in-house legal counsel, you will draft and negotiate client, issuer and supplier agreements whilst supporting the team to develop new processes and procedures to improve efficiencies. Responsibilities will include:

* Assisting with the provision of practical, risk-weighted legal guidance, advice and support on a wide range of legal matters to teams and individuals across the company, including but not limited to: data protection regulation, PCIDSS, international regulation, confidentiality, IP, privacy and data security matters impacting the business globally.

* Drafting, negotiating and managing the end to end process of a variety of commercial contracts including but not limited to: Card Processing Agreements, Issuer Agreements, NDAs, Data Sharing/Processing Agreements, Partner Referral Agreements, Strategic Partner Agreements, Consultancy Agreements and Supplier Agreements

* Drafting legal templates where necessary and creating efficient legal processes.

* Working with the broader team to share information about the regulatory environment to facilitate efficient and transparent legal support across the business.

* Providing legal and strategic business guidance to business units and management on all commercial matters.

* Providing clarification on legal language or specifications as necessary, particularly in relation to GDPR, data protection and information security.

* Providing ad hoc training on relevant legal developments and topics as needed.

Skills, Ability and Experience

Required

* UK qualified lawyer at top city firm with 1 to 2 years PQE.

* Firm understanding of data security regulations as it relates to the processing of personally identifiable information.

* Comfortable with creating templates and setting up processes independently.

* Sound legal and practical business judgment.

* Superb contract drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail.

* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to manage a high volume of projects while meeting tight deadlines.

* Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
