Warehouse Logistics Assistant

Salary: £26,000 – £27,600 per year

This is a special opportunity for a competent Warehouse Logistics Assistant to be responsible for the engineering stores to support the assembly and manufacturing of electrical and mechanical parts and products. You will ensure the correct items are all available to meet production and delivery schedules and that customers receive their orders on time.

What you will be doing as the Warehouse Logistics Assistant:

• Booking in – receiving, quality checking and logging deliveries using the ERP system
• Quality – checking dimensions and tolerance of delivered goods to ensure specification match
• Packing – items ready for despatch, ensuring safe delivery using appropriate materials
• Putting stock away – carrying and moving goods, keeping the warehouse clean and tidy
• Monitoring the accuracy of stock levels against the agreed inventory levels and liaising with the company buyer to reorder and replenish stock levels
• Picking components and assembling kits ready for manufacture against works orders

 The Warehouse Logistics Assistant person skills and qualities

• Good IT literacy, some knowledge of MRP / ERP/ SAP systems beneficial, if you have used InfoLN great! Training will be given.
• Experience in a similar warehouse, manufacturing environment greatly preferred
• The ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings is an advantage as would the use of micrometre and Vernier callipers be
• You’ll be able to work independently and as part of a busy team to support production
• Demonstrating good communication skills, you will be numerate with an eye for detail, spotting shortages, wrong or late deliveries
