Development Engineer

Salary: £30,000 – £66,000 per year

Are you an engineer or designer with ability to visualise in 3 dimensions and create and develop ideas and parts and communicate these in person and in CAD to customers and stakeholders?

AAV Plastics are a design and imagination led supplier of injection moulded parts and products for a wide range of industries, from parts for Wind Farms to electronics industry and leisure with 50% of our parts exported around the world.

Injection moulding design for manufacture is spatially demanding – you need to be able to imagine and create a part and from this the mould tool and the processes which involved in its creation.

You may have already worked in injection moulding or be an engineering or product design graduate, either way you will have a strong and clear spatial ability which enables you to create, understand, and challenge your own and others’ design concepts. You will be ready to engage with customers’ requirements and technological and other parameters to create parts and products that meet these and at the same time are affordable to tool and mould and add value to the customer relationship.

Your time at AAVPD will develop these skills and give you interesting insights into a range of different industries. You will have the opportunity to develop new concepts of your own if they can be accommodated within the business.

You will be involved with detailed aspects of the design and the toolmaking aspects of it- and will acquire a detailed knowledge of toolmaking techniques and different aspects of toolmaking and moulding and how they impact the design process.

The salary will depend on your qualifications and experience. Our business size means that you will be involved in decisions and challenges across the business, and this will give you a wider range of experience of different business and engineering areas than you would in many larger and perhaps more prestigious businesses.
