Assistant Accountant

Salary: £33,600 – £38,400 per year

Our client is an established business based in Swadlincote. They are extremely successful in their field which is construction related, and they are now looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to complement their existing friendly team.

Supporting the Company Accountant, general duties will entail:

• Assistance with delivery of monthly management accounts
• Management of purchase order analysis and information to trial balance
• Responsibility for VAT returns
• Managing running costs and resale prices
• Running payroll for monthly and weekly paid employees (half a day each week)
• Assisting with the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and asset register depreciation charges
• Maintenance of systems to comply with audits for financial accounts, HP funders, etc
• Assistance with communications and IT when required

This role would suit someone looking to develop a career in Accounts who has a foundation to build on. Ideally, you should be capable of taking accounts to trial balance and have some payroll experience although training could be given.
