Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year

Group Health Safety Environment Manager required for renowned manufacturing/engineering group based near Ipswich.

Supporting the Senior Management Team (SMT) the Group Health Safety Environment Manager will oversee all HSE compliance and risk management for the group and will ensure that legal, financial and regulatory compliance for HSE is maintained at all times.

Duties will include:

* Ensuring Group HSE policies are up to date, relevant and compliant and standardizing them throughout the business

* Providing expert HSE guidance to the SMT in line with Company’s agreed HSE policies

* Developing and overseeing the Company’s overall HSE strategy ensuring that it is promoted and embedded (and reviewed and updated) appropriately across all aspects of the Company’s business

* Presenting to the Board for approval an annual HSE Strategy and monthly progress reports

* Working with the SMT in developing, implementing and refining the HSE agenda, data collection and reporting, including a review of the Group environmental strategy, to align with the long-term shareholder, national, regulatory and environmental requirements

* Developing, owning, leading and implementing an HSE internal audit programme

Our client is seeking an individual of high personal integrity who thrives on providing scrutiny and support to a collaborative and supportive SMT managing a dynamic business.

Applicants will ideally be educated to degree level and / or hold a recognised HSE qualification and must have:

* A track record of operating in a senior HSE Leadership capacity

* Experience of:

* HSE operational compliance management

* working with diverse stakeholders

* the ability to build trust and commitment from colleagues

* assessing enterprise risk within a complex, fast-paced and dynamic environment

* Proven skills in working with and mediating varied stakeholders in a high-profile environment

* Able to maintain a strategic view and support stakeholders in developing and delivering objectives

* Demonstrable awareness of and experience in the legal HSE responsibilities of a Board

* Awareness of current financial and business trends and an interest in the manufacturing sector

* The ability to communicate effectively in all formats, particularly written and oral, to all Stakeholders

* The ability to understand and interpret regulatory and compliance requirements including but not limited to ISO Standards, Health & Safety at work Act, COSHH, GDPR any other relevant legal guidelines

The role is based at the Head Office but the successful candidate will undertake frequent site visits across the UK. There may be opportunities for home/office hybrid working
