Development Engineer

Role:

Development Engineers help clients succeed by understanding their problems and suggesting appropriate solutions. We are looking for that ambitious individual to create and develop opportunities and nurture working relationships to ensure client’s needs are met or exceeded bringing them back to the company time and time again for their composite solutions and develop its range of offshore composite structures utilised with in several industries e.g. O&G, Renewables and Marine.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of a thriving ambitious Advanced Composite Engineering Team sharing the same drive and enthusiasm as their peers.

Main Duties:

* Analyse potential and existing markets to identify business opportunities in the advanced composites and fibre reinforced markets.

* Carry out Technical market research to develop strategies and roadmaps for market entry opportunities with the implementation of composite products in areas where traditional solutions maybe the norm.

* Develop and maintain good Technical partnerships with our customers to develop their awareness of our technical knowledge and composite product capabilities for the future growth of the company

* Provide pre-sales Technical support to the customer and our sales team in developing strategies and alliances for expanding company’s Advanced Composites portfolio and product capabilities.

* Prepare presentations, technical proposals on effective development of business opportunities for the company.

* Assist Senior management in resourcing, budgeting, and problem solving activities in meeting the demands of our customers

* Provide technical support to Develop campaigns and other activities that will help in increasing the recognition of the company product range in an evolving composites industry

* Lead and Guide internal customers in new and emerging composite product lines across multiple industries.

* Regularly provide updates on the market competition analysis to management, the Sales team on meeting or exceeding market expectations to keep the company at the forefront of our customer’s mind.

* Stay in tune with internal developments and advancements on the latest design and manufacturing techniques to provide up-to-date and accurate technical information to our customers and potential customers.

* Look for opportunities for continuous improvement and feedback to internal customers so the company can go from strength to strength

* Support work for proposals and projects working to tight deadlines

Candidate Requirements

* An Engineering related degree

* Minimum of 3 years Development Engineering experience within a fast-paced Advanced Composites engineering and/or manufacturing environment.

* Technical Knowledge of composite structures, materials and composite manufacturing techniques

* Develop and Deliver Technical presentations for existing and prospective customers, in a professional manner

* Have experience of building plans and strategies and delivered to Senior Management

* Forged potential product opportunities from nothing by applying technical knowledge to existing problems or solutions and raising awareness of the performance benefits on offer.

Remuneration

On offer for this position is a salary of around £48,000depending on experience with additional benefits.
