Quantity Surveyor (Affordable Housing)

Our client is a successful Construction Contractor operating within the Education, Housing, Local Authority and Maintenance sectors.

Due to a period of sustained growth we are actively recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join the company on a permanent basis to be operating in the East Midlands region.

An essential requirement of this vacancy is that you have a proven track record working in a similar role within the housing sector with a minimum of five years’ post graduate experience (or a graduate Quantity Surveyor with between one to two years post graduate experience) and varied contractual knowledge is desirable.

Duties will include:

• Pre-tender measurements
• Post tender project administration
• Preparation of commercial costing information
• Preparation of bills of quantities
• Liaison with site team and other members of the contracts department
• Good understanding of on site delivery
• Ability to price a schedule of rates
• Ability to manage numerous schemes at any one time

Ideally you will have progressed through your career and have been employed as a Quantity Surveyor for at least five years. You must have proven experience of commercially managing decent homes / social housing projects.

You must have CSCS accreditation and preferably hold a degree qualification in quantity surveying / commercial management or equivalent professional construction quantity surveying qualification.

Good general commercial awareness and excellent communication skills will be essential as you will be liaising with Clients, Consultants, sub-contractors, site teams and senior management.

A current clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this post.
