Support Worker – Supported Living
Location: Yaxley, Peterborough
Due to our on-going success and to fulfil our plans for continuous development of the organization, we are recruiting for Support Workers at our Supported Living Homes based in Yaxley, Peterborough.
About The Job:
Reporting to the Home Manager the Support Worker is responsible for the care and support of all residents aged 19 and above. Assisting them in their journey into adulthood, focusing on catering for their everyday needs and requirements.
Promoting independence and individuality within their home as well as assisting them to integrate into the wider community. Working on a 2 week rotating shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities:
• To provide a safe, comfortable and supportive home for the residents
• Participate in rotas, which may include day, evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working and sleeping-in duties at night.
• Contribute to the development of the young adults through the provision of a healthy lifestyle, a variety of appropriate stimulating activities and the example of a consistent and caring adult role model.
• Support the young adults towards managing their own behaviours and becoming as independent as possible within their own capabilities by using the skills and approved approaches learnt during the training provided.
• Support the young adults in a variety of activities to include all physical activities either on site or off site.
• Assist the young adults with all personal care needs as outlined in their Individual Care Plans (ICP); eating, bathing, toileting, cleaning teeth, dressing, etc.
• Take direction and instruction from the Senior Care Team and Home Manager.
• Attend weekly Care Meetings.
• Act as a member of the Care Team, ensuring effective working relationships supporting colleagues and being prepared to receive support when necessary.
• Contribute to care planning and updating of IPCP’s and when necessary participate in reviews.
• Identify personal training needs and attend appropriate training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
• Adhere to the Employee Handbook and all Company policies and procedures; particularly those relating to Health & Safety and safeguarding the welfare of pupils / residents.

Essential Experience Skills & Qualifications
• Ideally hold a NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care
• Experience of providing care and support to adults and young adults
• To have good oral and written communication skills
• Be computer literate
• Ideally have experience of working with adults with disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour
Remuneration Package
The successful applicant will be offered a remuneration package that will consist of a basic salary of; £26,000per year (40 hours per year) as well as comprehensive training and other company benefits such as; Pension, Life Assurance, Child Care Voucher Scheme and not to forget our Stunning Work Locations.
