Salary: £18 – £19.2 per hour

Job Objectives:

To manage the Construction Site. Allocating effective workspace and co-ordinating the Support Services provided by Admin, Supply Chain, Stores and Labourers.

Role: Maintaining an efficient Construction Site to meet the needs of the business

Responsibilities:

Providing a cohesive and efficient construction site to internal and external customers.
Management of Stores.
Ensure plant and equipment is supplied, maintained and used in accordance with all relevant UK legislation including the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation 1998 (PUW ER) and Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) standards.
Manages and is responsible for the workshop facility including stores, office and external areas.
Manage facility’s utility costs and temporary land rental with personnel.
Point of contact for general queries.
Ensure all cranes and lifting equipment are properly maintained and certified.
Manages on and off hire of hired in plant with Stores personnel.
Respond to urgent or emergency situations as they arise.
Ownership and Accountability.
Support the HSE standards and practices within company and deploy within the facility.
Ensure all HSE procedures are in place, communicated and complied with, working closely with HSE function to identify and propose future improvements.
Ensure all Quality procedures are in place, communicated and complied with, working closely with Quality function to identify and propose future improvements.
Collaborate closely with Production to support project flow through the facility.
Oversee the checking of tools for calibration and testing and the checks for damage and serviceability, ensure they are quarantined.
Ensure waste management and recycling systems are set up and used correctly.
Ensure Workspaces including offices are cleaned adequately and stocked with sufficient consumables such as stationery, IT and printers, water dispensers etc.

Risk Management:

Check COSHH/Hazard sheets.
Ensure personnel carry out daily/pre use checks on all vehicles before using them.
Enforce workshop speed limits and protocols.
Ensure all areas are kept within legal compliance and certification.

Quality:

Contribute to 5S’s Continual Improvement Plan.
Ensure non conformance is followed up and that the appropriate actions are taken.
Ensure all paperwork and IT systems are updated.
Ensure compliance with practices/templates /guidelines/standards and approved processes throughout company.
Support the HSEQ standards and practices within company.

Support:

Liaise with the Construction Manager to ensure adequate staffing cover.
Provide support and guidance to other company functions as required.

Core Competencies:

Construction or Facilities Management.
Warehousing/Stores experience in an engineering and/or industrial environment.
Supervisory skills.
Competent IT skills.

Behavioral:

Attention to detail – closer/finisher type.
Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks.
Ability to use past experience and knowledge to achieve solutions to problems.
Works with minimum supervision.
Good communication skills written and verbal.

Qualifications and Experience:

GCSE Mathematics and English or similar (e.g. HNC).
Full Driving License.
Qualified First Aider Required.
