Business Development Manager – Solutions

Gorkana Group brings together the UK’s most recommended Media Database, Multi-channel Media Monitoring and Measurement services for PRs and marketing and communications teams representing all kinds of organisations.

As a Business Development Manager in the Database team you are responsible for generating new business opportunities to help Gorkana Group build our database revenue in line with our business plan.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced Sales person who can join our UK Database Sales team and play a significant role in supporting our continued client growth across all sectors. Your primary duties as Database Business Development Manager are to develop a strategy to identify prospects and follow up marketing generated leads; prepare and carry out customer focused pitches and consistently deliver on monthly revenue targets.

At the Gorkana Group, we believe in a consultative selling approach and we work with potential PR clients to understand their business needs and identify ways that Gorkana’s range of products and services can support them. You will also be cross selling other products of the Group.

We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated, consultative and confident individual with a proven track record of delivering results and hitting targets. The successful applicant will receive a competitive package, including our sales bonus and access to our full benefits scheme.

DUTIES:

• Help drive new business by proactively identifying new business targets across a range of sectors
• Handle incoming calls/emails from potential clients and pre-qualify their needs
• Prepare and deliver customer focused pitches
• Meet and exceed individual monthly sales targets

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven Sales Experience (1-2 years)
• Proven ability to develop effective pitches and win new business
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Goal orientated, self-motivated individual who is confident, thorough and tenacious
• Able to work independently but within a team environment
• Prior knowledge of the PR industry, and existing products would be a distinct advantage.

The hours are Monday – Friday 9:00-17:30 (37.5 hours per week) and our office is located in central London (Banner Street/Old Street).
