Due to internal promotion and business growth an opportunity has arisen for a Senior CHP Engineer to join our client, one of Europe’s leading privately-owned food processors at their site in Ellesmere.
Job Title: Senior CHP Engineer

Hours of Work – Mon – Fri 7am to 3 30pm – Weekends and overtime as/when required by the business
Purpose of the role:
As the Senior CHP Engineer, you will possess a strong technical knowledge and be seen as the combined heat & power (CHP) expert within the Engineering team. Working as a member of your team you will be responsible for maintaining equipment efficiency and minimising downtime. Reporting into the Engineering Management team you will also offer frontline support to any site services projects and correctives across the site.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will manage and further improve the existing CHP systems high availability and output providing daily/weekly reports detailing performance and any ongoing projects and correctives. You will provide first line support to the Engineering department in terms of technical knowledge and will coach and mentor members of the Engineering team in CHP related tasks and PPM.
You will be the main point of contact for the CHP system and will work closely with Engineering management on maintaining and improving system efficiency.
You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to report findings to senior Management/Directors and will provide flexible support across the operation, the role is aimed at applying knowledge and skills to deal with situations and identify and influence the long term issues in order to drive continuous improvement
Previous experience of CHP systems is essential and knowledge of working with heavy engines and steam is vital. You will have the ability to interrogate PLCs and electrically fault find to a high standard.
