Senior Civil Engineer

My client is a well renowned independent, international consulting engineer which has built a solid reputation for the quality of its work over the last 40 years. They are currently looking to expand their civils team based in Leeds City Centre.

As a Civil Engineer, you will provide technical and design services to the group on a wide variety of projects ranging from schools, hotels commercial and residential developments, highways and infrastructure. There is also scope for the right candidate to lead projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Undertake detailed civil engineering design
* Prepare technical schedules
* Plan and manage CAD documentation of design work
* Under guidance of senior staff, represent BH at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers
* Ensure service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget
* Ensure that appropriate service/design decisions are met
* Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved
* Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team
* Ensuring all relevant BH staff are informed of client matters
* Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc
* Actively work towards Chartered Engineering status
* Commitment to CPD and self learning / development
* The post holder must at all times carry out his/ her duties with due regard to the Diversity Policy

Person specification:

Required Skills
* Extensive experience in a comparable civils/infrastructure design role.
* Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, AutoCAD
* Drainage, highways and earthworks engineering design experience working on a one to one basis and in team working situations
* Ability to communicate technical subjects
* Ability to work autonomously and make design decision.
* Good communication skills, experience in dealing with other employees and external clients
Actively working towards Chartered status with a relevant Institution
* WinDes MicroDrainage proficiency

Desirable skills
* Experience on a wide range of projects
* Proficient in AutoCAD Civils 3D
