Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.
Joining them as a Learning Resources Assistant you will offer additional support in the Learning Resource Centre to staff and students during the evenings (Monday – Thursday, 4:30pm – 8:30pm, term time only) as student numbers continue to rise. The successful candidate will also support the internet bar which is to have 24-hour access for HE students.
Issuing and returning library books, re-shelving and tidying the books, you will offer basic IT support to students to include re-setting passwords, printing queries and checking in AV/IT equipment. Dealing with all enquiries relating to the Library and IT, you will ensure that the Learning Resource centre remains an environment conducive for studying, maintain general tidiness and carry out routine administrative duties as required.
Candidates for this role must have good administrative and organisational skills, experience of Microsoft Office including Excel and a level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualification (or a willingness to work towards this). With experience of working in a Library or Learning Resources Centre, you should be customer focussed in your outlook, have good written and verbal communication skills and have a general understanding of IT Systems and a Microsoft environment. An RSA CLAIT or EDCL qualification would be beneficial, as would experience of using computerised library managements systems, however this is not essential.
