Salary: £26,000 – £27,027 per year
The successful homeless support worker will work as part of a countywide service within a specified District offering intensive support to people with complex needs who have been placed in temporary accommodation or risk of being homeless. The people needing support will have experienced periods of rough sleeping, drug & alcohol issues, mental health problems and a range of other issues and barriers preventing people from maintaining stable accommodation. As a homeless Support Worker you will be responsible for the co-ordination of support through yourself and other agencies. This will involve use of strength-based support planning, detailed risk assessments; trauma informed and psychologically informed approaches. There will be a need to work creatively and consistently to work with people who may not usually engage well with offers of support.
You will act as a keyworker, encouraging positive and healthy lifestyles and assist individuals to access services that support complex needs such as drug or alcohol issues and mental health concerns.
The successful candidate will be provided will full induction and must be friendly, proactive, positive, approachable and non judgemental.
