EMBS Engineering is in partnership with a fantastic, well thought of, international precision engineering company who boasts over 150 years of experience supporting the Power, Nuclear, Oil & Gas and Construction industries.

Due to new project wins, our client is looking to expand its engineering team and recruit a skilled Manufacturing Project Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis.

The company has vast manufacturing capabilities which include Welding & Fabrication, Machining, Assembly, NDT, Quality etc. so they have most processes available in house which makes this a very exciting and dynamic opportunity as you will be exposed to all areas.

Role purpose: To assist and support the Head of Manufacturing by taking responsibility for delivering manufacturing work packages safely, to quality, time & cost requirements, in accordance with business processes and working practices. This role will form part of the Project Trinity team representing the Manufacturing function.

Responsibilities include but are not limted to: 

Supporting the Project Manager/Bid Manager during the order winning process 
As the Project Trinity representative for Manufacturing, work directly with functions to establish and maintain integrated schedules and resource requirements to meet project objectives
Coordination of project deliverables between departments to ensure deadlines are met
Attending and inputting to progress review meetings 
Identifying and acting upon delivery risks (threats and opportunities) 
Maintaining project costs within the cost control system
Ensuring that the Project Manager is aware of all unresolved problems and support the Project Manager in all project-related activities
Produce progress reports and visual project dashboards as required 
Weekly review and update of the Production Planning tool to ensure the production schedule is supporting on-time project delivery
Liaising with manufacturing cell leaders and ME team to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and plans are in place
Monitoring sub-contractor delivery
Analysing costs and programme variances and proactively providing solutions
Submission of variation requests on the Synergy database and inform the Project Manager of Change Control impacts 
Attend contract commercial / progress / technical meetings as directed by the Project Manager and produce data for review 
Deputise / Support the Project Manager whenever nominated to do so
Liaise with client representatives on all contract issues as directed by the Project Manager
Communication of project updates for the manufacturing function

The successful applicant MUST be able to demonstrate:

Strong engineering background – ideally apprentice trained but time served individuals will be considered
Previous Project Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience 
Fully aware of project lifecycle 
General understanding of project management principles and processes 
Knowledge of fabrication & machining processes
Use of PFMEA/DFMEA/MITPs & Control plan tools & risk management techniques
Experience using statistical techniques (SPC’s, Gauge R & R)
Awareness of measurement and calibration standards
Ability to take on work packages and see these through from concept to final completion (plan and delivery)
Experience managing budgets or working to project-related costs
Exposure to New Product Introduction
Good communication skills (written and verbal) and work in an organised, methodical manner
