Finance Analyst

Acorn Recruitment is searching for a Finance Analyst, part qualified ACCA / CIMA, to join our client based in Warrington, Cheshire.

Duties will include:

Responsibility for the day- to-day general ledger accounting and reconciliation, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas.
Research and resolve inquiries for assigned functional areas.
Independently perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analysis.
Investigate and report to Management any inconsistencies or improprieties.
Analyse data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed.
Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested.
Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance Projects as assigned by Management.
Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the results of the division’s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.
Demonstrate appropriate understanding / working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, and apply them.
Identify non-value added processes within the department and seeks solutions.

Skills and qualifications

An understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
Currently studying and part qualified ACCA / CIMA.
Must have advanced MS Excel skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment
Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques required
Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and
Resolve complex problems
Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership.

Starting salary of £30,229per annum
37.5hrs per week, flexible working hours between 7am – 7pm.
