Salary: £33,600 – £36,000 per year

Position: Finance Analyst
Location: Richmond
Hours: 40 hours per week

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting directly to senior management the successful individual will be responsible for assisting in projects concerning pricing, budgeting and forecasting and in the preparation of key financial information. They will also be expected to carry out other duties consummate with the commercial function within SPS.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

► Prepayments
► Production and posting of prepayment journals.
► Monthly reconciliation of associated balance sheet control accounts.
► Resolving differences in terms of value and time remaining.
► Locate expenditure to be prepaid and adjust from the monthly accounts.
► Chase up late invoices or resolve prepayments that have overrun.
► Deferred postings – Investigate and adjust where necessary.
► Other key balance sheet control accounts
► Monthly production of current month cost journal.
► Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts to liabilities.
► Processing of associated payments and returns.
► Review of P&L’s
► Month end review of Delivery and onsite functions as required.
► Post corrections and adjustments.
► Commentary on variances.
► VAT reconciliation, payments and returns submission (UK, Ireland and Jersey).
► Support of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
► Prepare and process Cross Charges for Delivery functions (analyse and respond to related queries).
► Distribution of P&L’s to production budget holders and support of query and review process.
► Ad-hoc tasks as required to support the business and Accounts department team.
► Ad hoc reports and or project support for internal and external customers.
► Support the annual audit.
► Provide management information as required.
► Coordinate and undertake Monthly P&L distribution/query process for input and output business and provide analysis and responses.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

The ideal candidate will display knowledge and experience of the following:

► Previous accounts experience or part qualified accountant or equivalent.
► Advanced knowledge of financial ratios and concepts.
► A genuine all-rounder who is able to undertake multitude of tasks in the commercial department.
► Ability to prioritise and manage peak service demands.
► Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of written and verbal formats with a wide range of people.
► Working accurately, under pressure, to tight deadlines.
► Advanced IT skills – Word Processing, Excel, Databases, Email and Web.
