Position
The key purpose of this role is to provide support with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the Open GI group of companies; and to develop and maintain accurate, high quality and insightful financial information and analysis to drive strategic planning and decisions in the operations of the business.
This will be a key component in the creation of a small new FP&A team at Open GI.
* Business partner with various budget holders to communicate budgets and support commercial decisions and acting as a bridge between the finance and operational elements of Open GI.
* Prepare forecasts of the company’s profit and loss (income statement) and operating performance to inform management on the progress and effectiveness of the company’s strategic plans and investments.
* Support the delivery of relevant and timely financial planning models and analysis to key stakeholders.
* Use data to deliver insights into business performance and present findings at all levels in the business including to senior management covering revenue, expenditure, balance sheet and cashflow outputs/analysis.
* Support the continued improvement and development of budgeting, financial forecasting and modelling tools. Understand the company’s historical performance as well as trends that may impact future performance.
* Analyse complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
* Develop and maintain KPI analysis across all departments within the business.
* Maintain financial models to support budget development and tracking against actual expenditure.
* Develop effective ways to present financial data, including detailed KPI metrics, dashboard reports, in-depth and complex financial analysis, to promote improvement in business performance.
* Identification and creation of business reports.
* Develop strong working relationships throughout the company to meet the needs of stakeholders in a timely and effective manner
Qualifications
* Ideally qualified, or part-qualified accountant – ACCA, ACA, CIMA.
Experience and Skills
* Relevant experience in FP&A is essential.
* Extensive experience in producing complex financial analysis and reports.
* The ability to build and sustain effective professional working relationships within Finance and the wider operations of the business.
* A high degree of skill in using Excel, to include advanced macros and data analytical tools is essential.
* Good knowledge of reporting tools (ideally PowerBI) will be a major asset.
* Prior experience of the financial systems we use (SAP, Jira and Salesforces) would be advantageous.
* The ability to think analytically and critically to review and apply logical problem-solving skills.
* A strong commercial mindset with the ability to communicate finance
