COMPANY INFORMATION: Our client is one of the world leading Manufacturers, they have over 60 manufacturing facilities worldwide and have several supplier’s contracts in place with major blue-chip companies.
YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- Experience in the food industry, preferably within a technical, process or quality department
- Have the ability to work on their own and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Food safety to level 4 standard or equivalent.
ROLE INFORMATION: Working as part of a large technical team, the successful QA Technician will be responsible for ensuring the company are compliant with HACCP & Quality Management systems & good manufacturing practice (GMP) including product quality assurance, food safety and hygiene standards and traceability.
Duties will include:
- Drive product quality and work closely with the manufacturing team to promote a QA culture throughout all aspects of the business.
- To motivate, train, coach and develop production operatives into a cohesive team who are challenging of practices and the working environment and who proactively suggest improvement initiatives. To regularly assess the manufacturing operative’s performance and output and effectively manage any shortfalls.
- Support the QA supervisors and sites senior technical management team with BRCGS certification and maintenance.
- Direct and active involvement in customer and third-party schemes from site preparation, to preventative and corrective action, applying root cause analysis as appropriate.
- To implement quality improvements through ongoing QA assessment against known standards and procedures / policies and involvement QA panels, ensuring that business and customer expectations are exceeded.
- To be active in all areas of factory at least daily, to ensure high standards of GMP and system compliance are being achieved, working closely with the key personnel to understand and correct any areas of non-compliance, escalating and recording as appropriate.
- To play a key part in all areas of HACCP compliance.
- Assessment of raw material intake against known standards.
- To trend all activity relating to quality and compliance to procedures and systems in a way that can easily provide relevant information as required internally. Ensure that this information is circulated and discussed regularly at the appropriate forums and corrective action plans agreed to address key areas of concern.
- To carry out identified duties as part of the Critical Incident Management Team.
- Validate and verify product compliance, safety & legality. Reviewing daily paperwork, legal process checks such as weight control, recipe validation & collection / submission of microbiological and environmental samples.
