Warehouse Coordinator
Redditch, Worcestershire
£33,600 – £36,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Permanent position
A Global supplier to the events and exhibitions sector, based in South Birmingham are currently looking for an experienced, motivated and capable individual to undertake a full overhaul of the warehouse storage facility to improve the operation for the benefit of the company and their clients.
Experience required:
- A proven background in warehouse coordination, or stores management is essential
- The ability to create new inventory systems using manual and computer-based methods including Excel spreadsheets or basic WMS would be ideal
- A valid Reach Forklift Truck Licence with extensive operating experience, and confidence in dealing with larger loads, is essential
- Stock inventory organisation abilities are critical to create a fully functioning and efficient warehouse
- Excellent communication skills with customers, internal and external stakeholders is required
- Previous knowledge of setting up a warehouse Management System (WMS) would be preferred although not essential
- Although no people-management will be required in this role, the ability to delegate tasks to other departmental personnel, contractors and customer’s drivers / delivery personnel is likely to be required
Responsibilities include:
- Reorganising all stock and inventory systems for goods stored currently in the warehouse
- Physically re-organising stock into more efficient locations using manual pump trucks, manual handling and Reach Forklift Truck
- Creating a new storage / stock location and inventory system using IT and manual recording systems
- Creating new goods-in and despatch paperwork system
- Requesting and utilising additional staff from production areas to assist with warehouse duties when required
- Unloading and loading trailers and vehicles of stock to be stored or released for the customer
- Monitoring and responding to customer emails and telephone contact
- Receiving and entering goods-in onto system
- Picking and checking orders for customers
- Planning incoming stock location
- Completing regular reports on scrappage and recycling for senior management
- Opening up and locking up the building
- Ensuring security systems are functional at all times
- Liaising with contractors to carry out building maintenance and repair work when required
This role will suit someone who has set up new warehouses, reorganised existing stock control systems and who can work well alone using their own initiative.
