Internal Sales Engineer

Salary: £36,000 per year

A new opportunity is available for an engineer to join my clients well established and respected business to progress into an Internal Sales Engineer within their Engineering Department. My client specialises in high quality electrical products and components used in a wide range of industries. To be considered you will have a proven electrical / mechanical manufacturing work background and after solid training on the manufacturing processes be keen to move into a technical sales and support role.

Internal Sales Engineer role:
The Internal Sales Engineer should be aware that this is a development role in which the successful applicant will be provided with experience in the engineering department liaising with customers and other engineering team members providing technical support to clients on existing product ranges, to eventually progress further within the business. Working initially with the engineering team to gain a sound technical knowledge of the products, manufacturing processes and technologies. You will be involved in the company’s product offering and provide development support on new product development, with the aim of eventually progressing in to the sales team to assist clients with product selection and effectively growing and developing the business.

Internal Sales Engineer requirement:
Qualified to relevant Engineering discipline to ideally HNC level or above.
2+ years’ experience working in the electro/mechanical manufacturing role.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and principles.
Some experience of writing Product Design Specifications
Project management experience
Be commercially aware
Be able to Support concept design and product design to meet requirements and cost
Define materials and specify components
Work with internal manufacturing to ensure effective transition through production
Basic 3D CAD experience
Clear Understanding of European standards and specifications.
Competent in all Microsoft Office package.
