Closed Sites Supervisor (Landfill)
West Midlands

Our client, a leading waste management operator, is looking to recruit a Site Supervisor to join their team and help manage a number of closed landfill site operations and projects in the West Midlands area.
Main duties:
* Ensure the restoration and engineering stream inputs are handled safely and are compliant with company and operational procedures, Environment Agency Permitted conditions and current legislation.
* Ensure that health and safety is adhered to on all sites.
* Foster good working relationships with regulatory bodies and local interested parties.
* Ensure all projects are completed in a timely fashion, to budget and run smoothly and compliantly.
* Work with the Engineering Department to manage engineering activities.
* Oversee the management of leachate.
* Manage contractors and other site resources.
* Cover the weighbridge when necessary.
Candidate requirements:
* ‘Hands-on’ operational experience in a supervisory position within the waste industry.
* A working understanding of environmental issues including gas control, leachate, surface water and permits.
* Good literacy skills.
* Good IT skills.
* A COTC qualification or willingness to gain one within the first 12 months of being in post.
* A full, valid driving licence.
