Trade Assistant (Fabrication)

Salary: £16.8 – £18.6 per hour

We are looking for a trade assistants (semi skilled labourers) to start immediately on a rig repair project in Hartlepool.

The Role:

Working as part of a large fabrication team you will be assisting all tradesmen including welders and platers in the execution of their tasks in the fabrication/ repair of a docked drilling rig.

APPLICANTS MUST HAVE WORKED IN A SIMILAR ENVIRONMENT, EITHER A FABRICATION FACILITY OR AN ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION SITE

Responsibilities 

• Grinding/Fettling

• Assisting welders and fabricators

• Assisting with loading, unloading and packing of equipment 

• Withdrawal of correct equipment from stores and ensuring its return 

• The cleaning and protection of equipment 

• Be responsible for good housekeeping and safe working practices in the workshop and on the dock yard

• Individual risk awareness within job role 

• Cable management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• CSCS/CCNSG Card

• Educated to GCSE level 

• Previous experience working on large construction sites but ideally in a workshop engineering environment

• Successful SHE induction 

• An understanding of company Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental systems and programmes 

Desirable Training/Certification

• Abrasive Wheels – Desirable

• Pre Heat – Desirable 

Hours

12 hour shifts, 7 days per week

Rates

DAYSHIFT | £14.00ph UMBRELLA (all hours)

NIGHTSHIFT | £15.50ph UMBRELLA (all hours)
