Salary: £36,000 per year

Mechanical Design Engineer

£30,000.00 to £32,000.00 depending on experience.

35 hours flexible – Monday to Friday.

+ 5% pension contribution when employee contributes minimum 2.5%.

+ Prorated 34 days holidays. 26 floating days. January to December.

+ Profit related bonus after time served.

We are currently working alongside a privately owned and established multimillion-pound engineering firm, who are now keen to appoint an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer.

This role will suit an ambitious and driven individual who is looking for a promising future and career. You must be intelligent, with the ability to learn quickly and extremely customer focused.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

** AutoCAD & Solidworks.

** Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel & Access.

** Mechanical installations.

** Liaising with structural & civil engineers.

** Clean UK driving licence, required for site visits.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE, BUT NOT ESSENTIAL

** Solidworks PDM Workgroup filing system.

** FEA analysis software.

** Machinery Directive, LOLER & ATEX regulations would be advantageous.

** Confined Space working but full training will be given if not.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Preparation of General Arrangement and layout drawings for specific schemes.
• Preparation of Detailed/manufacturing drawings and associated documentation.
• Design of new products/existing product development.
• To visit client’s sites and carry out site surveys.
• Attend meetings with clients as required.
• Detailed design discussions when visiting / meeting with clients.
• Generally, to contribute and assist as required in all activities undertaken within the drawing office.
• All other associated work not specifically mentioned.
• All other tasks required to fulfil the job in an effective and professional manner.
• All work is done within the framework of Quality, health and safety and Environmental Management systems which incorporate Company standards, design databases etc.
• The work is mainly office based but does require visits to customers sites/offices and other locations around the UK (we do work overseas as well but not very often) as necessary.
• Driving – the nature of the work means that you will be required to drive Company vehicles. You must ensure you are fit and competent to do so at all times.
