Location: Bedford, Bedfordshire, UK

Based in Bedford Bourns has established a reputation as a leading manufacturer of Circuit Protection Semiconductors. The Company is a key division of the Bourns Electronics Group, which is a significant player in the global market for Electronic Components and Integrated Solutions.
This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to perform a key role in ensuring the continued and future success of the manufacturing function within the Communication Division of Bourns. As the leading member of the Manufacturing function based at our cleanroom facility in Bedford, this position will report directly in to the locally based Operations Director.

Essential Role Requirements:
• Proven experience in planning, implementing and controlling an operational supply chain to satisfy customer requirements as efficiently as possible
• CIPS qualified, or equivalent
• Previous experience of people management within a manufacturing environment
• Commercially astute, with significant purchasing/supply-chain experience
• Proven experience in developing high performance planning and purchasing activities
• Experienced in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical, commercial and negotiation skills, with demonstrable success in delivering significant cost savings
• Experience of mentoring and supporting a team, encouraging personal development of individuals
• Effective decision maker, flexible and able to deliver pragmatic solutions without compromising global guidelines
• Ability to influence and drive behaviour changes from suppliers and other stakeholders
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and enthusiastic outlook
• Excellent communication skills
Desirable Role Requirements:
• Degree qualified, or equivalent vocational qualifications
• Second international language e.g. Spanish, French, Chinese
• Familiar with and experienced in recognised Continuous Improvement practices
