Salary: £28,800 – £30,000 per year
Our client has been well established for over ten years, it has national coverage employing over 190 staff that operate out of two locations.
The Finance team comprises of fifteen staff and is responsible for the preparation of all financial reporting including budgets, monthly management accounts plus associated KPIs and the company’s annual financial statements. It is also responsible for the management of client or insurer funds, which includes inter alia auditing, liaising and settlement of repairer invoices.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Principle Duties
* Raising of sales invoices
* Investigating any queries or discrepancies on both the sales and purchase ledgers
* Assisting in month-end processes associated with management accounts, including accruals and prepayments and in the reconciliation of inter-company balances.
* Taking ownership of Credit Control duties and ensuring that all customer accounts are maintained and up to date
* Processing of purchase invoices
* Completion of bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
* Responsible for posting cash for multiple different companies and ensuring the cash is allocated correctly.
* Support the Finance team with ad hoc finance and admin tasks as and when required
Other Duties
* To support and work with other departments / employees as required from time to time.
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:
The jobholder has decision making authority but is expected to make those decisions within their specified job parameters. The jobholder will be expected to resolve day-to-day problems / queries arising during his or her duties and report to their line manager if unable to answer these queries/ come to a decision.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internally the jobholder has contact with all levels of staff within the company. Externally, the jobholder has contact with suppliers, work providers and consultants.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The jobholder is expected to be actively studying towards a professional accountancy qualification such as AAT, ACCA or CIMA. They require good analytical skills, to be numerate, well organised and possess good communication skills.
