The role

The team of Product Specialist’s enables the UK and International sales teams to drive business growth via upselling, cross-selling and new customer acquisition. As a Technical Sales Executive, you will qualify inbound sales opportunities across a range of products, identify and build a pipeline of qualified opportunities for the new business sales teams through proactive outbound calls and support Account Managers in building a pipeline of upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts. As such this is not a role for closing, mainly further qualifying customer requirements. You will primarily be prospecting into UK secondary schools and international schools with some time on the primary school market. You may also be asked to prospect into Local Authorities and other key buyers. This is an entry level or junior sales role you will also be expected to achieve ambitious targets set by the business. You will build and maintain a good level of product knowledge across the entire company software product portfolio and be able to use this to create and qualify opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities; 

  • Demonstrating our software suite to both UK and international schools to secure sales. 
  • Achieving targets as set by the Head of Sales 
  • Maintaining contact with our clients and building positive relationships with them. 
  • There may be a requirement to visit clients to conduct on-site demonstrations. 
  • Attend exhibits/shows across the UK as part of a team. 
  • Dealing with enquires from colleagues and customers in a professional manner, following established procedures, referring complex enquires to relevant staff members, ensuring all relevant facts and information needed is recorded and passed on. 
  • Ensure that an understanding of the importance of confidentiality is applied when undertaking all duties. 
  • Achievement of individual sales targets as agreed with Line Manager 
  • Maintaining contact with our clients and building positive relationships with them. 
  • To take a proactive approach in cross-selling and up-selling additional modules and products to customers. 
  • Be able to identify those schools at risk of leaving us and the reasons why – before referring on to the support team for further training. 
  • Dealing with enquires from colleagues and customers in a professional manner, following established procedures, referring complex enquires to relevant staff members, ensuring all relevant facts and information needed is obtained and provided. 
  • Ensure that an understanding of the importance of confidentiality is applied when undertaking all duties. 
  • There may be a requirement to visit clients to conduct on-site demonstrations. 
  • To manage your sales pipeline, understand where leads are in the sales process and be able to report this information into the Sales Team Manager regularly for forecasting
